Rules of engagement

Nature as infrastructure.

Dragonfly Defense sits at the frontier of green practice and disciplined response: an ecological army you raise, not a synthetic spray you buy.

Predators, not pesticides

Dragonflies and their nymphs are natural mosquito hunters. We reinforce that food web instead of blanketing landscapes with chemicals.

Habitat-first logistics

Shipments only make sense where water habitat exists or can be prepared. We prioritize sites that can sustain emergence.

Honest outcomes

We frame results as mosquito pressure regulation—not magic eradication. Weather, habitat, and local ecology always shape the fight.

Deployment sequence

Three moves. One living force.

Dragonfly Defense is a subscription supply line for biological mosquito pressure relief—built for people who want ecology with operational clarity.

  1. Phase 01

    Receive the unit

We ship carefully packed nymphs from a short-cycle species—ready for a calm water feature, pond edge, or retention basin—so adults can emerge sooner.

  2. Phase 02

    Stage the nursery

Introduce nymphs into suitable still water with cover. They develop underwater as voracious aquatic hunters while you maintain habitat basics.

  3. Phase 03

    Launch the patrol

As they emerge into adults, dragonflies take the air. Your local mosquito regulation force is now on seasonal patrol.

Campaign timeline

From crate to canopy.

Mosquito pressure is seasonal. So is the force. This field timeline maps the biological campaign—shipment to patrol—with a short-cycle species chosen for faster emergence. Water temperature and habitat quality still shape the pace.

  1. Stage 01

    Your call

    Shipment

We ship live nymphs from a short-cycle species so you can raise dragonflies quickly. Start or pause your subscription anytime depending on the season.

  2. Stage 02

    Months

    Nymph operations

Most of a dragonfly’s life is spent underwater. Our short-cycle species hunts mosquito larvae through repeated molts and typically develops over months—not years.

  3. Stage 03

    Hours

    Emergence

When ready, nymphs climb emergent stems or kit surfaces, shed the exuvia, and pump wings open. Emergence is brief, fragile, and usually nocturnal or dawn-timed.

  4. Stage 04

    Weeks

    Adult patrol

Newly emerged adults harden for roughly a week, then patrol the air for mosquitoes and other flying insects. Adult life is typically measured in weeks—short, fierce, and seasonally decisive.

Durations are indicative field ranges, not guarantees. Cooler water and lower prey density can extend the nymph phase; warmer, well-fed nurseries can accelerate it.

Field habitat kit

A nursery for the force.

No pond? No problem. Our optional Field Habitat Kit gives nymphs a controlled staging ground—vessel, cover, water-condition basics, and a starter ration—so you can raise the army even without a natural wetland.

Reserve kit on waitlist

Vessel

Habitat tank

A still-water nursery sized for residential staging—opaque walls, secure lid vents, and room for cover plants or climbing stems.

  • Stable footprint for indoor or sheltered outdoor placement
  • Ventilated cover to limit escape during late nymph stages
  • Clear fill marks and care card for first setup

Structure

Shelter & climb gear

Nymphs need cover to hunt and a dry exit path when emergence begins. The kit stages both.

  • Submerged refuge / stem stubs for ambush cover
  • Emergent climb surface for the final molt
  • Placement diagram for light and temperature windows

Logistics

Water & rations

Starter water-condition supplies plus a limited food provision to bridge the first feeding cycles until local prey or your refill cadence takes over.

  • Dechlorinator / condition packet for tap-water starts
  • Starter prey ration sized for early nymph operations
  • Ops brief: water changes, feeding cadence, emergence watch

The kit is a controlled nursery, not a guarantee of outdoor pond conditions. Final species, volume, and food cadence ship with your season brief.

Operating sectors

One doctrine. Two fronts.

Whether you manage a backyard marsh or a corporate landscape, the mission is the same: raise predators where mosquitoes breed.

Private properties

Intelligence brief

FAQ

Straight answers before you enlist. More operational detail arrives with your waitlist briefing.

What exactly do I receive with a subscription?+

Live dragonfly nymphs packed for transit, plus release and habitat guidance. Cohort size depends on Home Patrol vs Pond Program. Exact counts ship with your season brief.

Do I need a pond, or can I use the Field Habitat Kit?+

Either works. Natural ponds, wetland edges, and prepared basins are ideal. The optional Field Habitat Kit provides a controlled nursery—tank, cover, water-condition basics, and a starter ration—when you lack a natural feature.

How long until nymphs become adults?+

We use a short-cycle species so nymphs typically develop over months rather than years. Water temperature and food still shape the pace. Adult life is typically weeks after a brief emergence.

Will this eliminate every mosquito?+

No responsible biological program promises total elimination. Dragonflies help regulate mosquito pressure as part of a healthier local food web.

Is pricing final? Can I buy today?+

Rates shown are indicative launch pricing in USD (English) and EUR (French). Checkout is not open yet—join the waitlist to reserve your season, kit, or company deployment.

When do subscriptions ship?+

We ship a short-cycle species so you can raise dragonflies quickly. Start or pause your subscription anytime depending on your mosquito season.
